Lafayette Hill is the Whitemarsh Township side of the Wissahickon, on the ridge where Ridge Pike and Germantown Pike meet — the village was called Barren Hill until the 1920s, after the ground Lafayette held there in 1778. Andorra and the Wissahickon woods form its whole southern edge.

How our trucks get here

Deliveries into Lafayette Hill run off Ridge Pike, Germantown Pike, Joshua Road, Flourtown Road, Stenton Avenue, Cedar Grove Road, Barren Hill Road and Church Road.

Both pikes are busy and narrow in places, so a truck prefers the side roads. The lots are wooded and several drives are steep off the ridge — worth a word if yours is one of them.

Tanks in Lafayette Hill homes

Mid-century singles and splits on generous wooded lots, with older stone houses along the two pikes and around Barren Hill and Spring Mill. Basements are usual and the tank is normally a 275 in one; the stone houses on the pikes are the ones with the bigger tanks and the occasional buried one.

Source: U.S. Census Bureau, 2019–2023 American Community Survey 5-year estimates, and the 2023 ZCTA Gazetteer. ZIP Code Tabulation Areas approximate postal ZIPs and don’t follow municipal boundaries, so these describe the ZIP rather than the borough or township exactly. The share heating with oil is left out here: the Census sample for this area is small enough that the published margin of error is wider than the estimate is useful, and we’d rather show nothing than a number we can’t stand behind.

Buying heating oil in Lafayette Hill

Lafayette Hill runs a small oil minority — too small for the Census to size confidently. That is a modest share for the area, and it is worth knowing why it is worth serving anyway: the houses are large, so the orders are large, and 19444 sits on the same run as Flourtown and Blue Bell rather than being a trip of its own. Prices move daily with the wholesale rack, which is why the number above is today’s and not last week’s. Local dealers compete on this page, so the lowest price is always at the top — we don’t sell placement above a better price.

How much oil do you need in Lafayette Hill?

Order a dollar amount, a number of gallons, or ask for a fill — whichever way you actually think about it. Tell us your tank size and what the gauge reads and we’ll warn you before you pay if the tank won’t take it all. You’re charged only for the gallons that actually go in, and if it takes less, your price per gallon doesn’t go up.

Heating oil in Lafayette Hill — common questions

Do you deliver heating oil in Lafayette Hill, PA?+

Yes, to 19444, which covers Lafayette Hill, Barren Hill and Spring Mill in Whitemarsh Township. Flourtown next door is 19031 and Conshohocken is 19428, both also served.

Was Lafayette Hill called Barren Hill?+

Yes — the village took the Lafayette name in the 1920s, after the ground Lafayette held here in 1778. Barren Hill is still used locally and Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church still carries it.

How much of 19444 still heats with oil?+

A small minority of the ZIP, and too small a one for the Census to size confidently — but they are large houses, so the orders are bigger than the share suggests.

My drive is steep and wooded. Will a tanker manage it?+

Usually, with notice. Several drives off the ridge are steep and tree-covered; a loaded truck would rather know before it starts down one than halfway along.

What is the minimum order in Lafayette Hill?+

100 gallons. Many houses here hold more than a 275, so ordering to fill is usually the better value.
